Description
In all areas of industrial production and construction, companies have to implement processes with increasing complexity to satisfy their customers needs in respect of product quality and continuity. To fulfil these requirements, a continuous process monitoring and documentation is required to assure the process quality.
To handle changing documentation needs of industrial processes, wireless sensor networks offer a cost efficient and flexible way to implement additional sensors.
In this thesis, wireless sensors will be integrated into a Festo MPS station using MicaZ sensor nodes and the Contiki operating system. In addition, a host application will be developed to interface the sensors from a PC.
Tasks:
- Literature Research
- Integration of wireless sensors into a ©Festo MPS station
- Handling of wireless communication
- Implementation of basic measuring features using Contiki
